Using CBD As An Alternative Pain Management Strategy

Cannabidiol, or CBD as it is more commonly known, is a new phytochemical found in Michigan. It was first discovered by Dr. Walterparenberg at the University of Michigan. He found that CBD could reduce the seizures that some children suffer from. This led him to conclude that the body does not need marijuana to produce its own CBD.

Cannabidiol or CBD Lube is currently used in more than one hundred pharmaceutical products in North America alone. In Europe, it is one of eleven essential oils used in cosmetics, hair care, massage and pharmaceuticals. It has shown much promise as an anti-inflammatory and pain relief supplement. One of the main benefits of CBD is that it does not increase the heart rate or cause fatigue. Two major clinical trials testing extracts from CBD oils showed that they had much less effect on inflammatory diseases than other anti-inflammatories, including ibuprofen and aspirin.

There are also many other medical issues associated with cannabidiol health benefits. Among them include seizures in children. CBD can potentially alleviate seizure disorders such as those that result from diseases such as epilepsy. While there is still much more scientific evidence to be made available linking CBD to these illnesses, there is substantial evidence to suggest that CBD reduces seizures. Additionally, the CBD is the principal chemical in the plant that has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties.

While CBD is generally seen as safer than other pharmaceuticals, there are still many people who debate its safety in human consumption. This controversy comes down to the fact that there is still much more scientific evidence that must be accumulated before conclusive statements can be drawn about CBD and humans. While marijuana is banned across many countries, especially in the United States, CBD is not controlled in the same way that cannabis is. This lack of regulation leaves people vulnerable to unscrupulous marketers who could sell CBD in any form.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding CBD and human consumption, there is still strong anecdotal evidence that suggests benefits from using CBD to treat a variety of ailments including abdominal pain, depression, lack of appetite, joint pain, nausea, and more. While there is still scientific evidence to corroborate some of these claims, there is no definitive clinical evidence that demonstrates how it works in humans. Many experts agree that further studies should be conducted to determine whether or not CBD is safe for use as a pain relief for patients. Even if CBD does not work as an actual pain reliever, many people who suffer from chronic pain believe that it helps reduce their symptoms.

One study found that CBD significantly reduced levels of inflammatory cytokines in patients with arthritis. One study found that CBD slowed the progression of degenerative spinal disease. No long term studies have yet to confirm the results of these studies, but the anecdotal evidence supports the idea that CBD can provide a viable alternative to pharmaceutical pain management. If you are in pain and would like to try this promising treatment, speak to your doctor about CBD.
